B.E. Mechanical Engineering, M.E. CAD/CAM

The Mechanical Engineering course covers the requirements of a broad range of industries from manufacturing plant and transportation to power generation and domestic appliances. At CIT, apart from mainstream course curriculum, motivated students can get involved with special projects from the second year onwards. Working on group projects, enable students to develop one of the most important aspects of mechanical engineering: teamwork.

We have well-equipped laboratories and workshops accommodated over an area of 600 sq.m. Lathe Shop, CAD - CAM Lab, Metrology Lab, Metallurgy Lab, Heat Transfer Lab, Thermal Engineering Lab, Welding Shop, Instrumentation & Dynamics Lab and Fluid Mechanics & Machinery Lab etc complete the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Job Prospects

Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines. Mechanical engineers may work in production operations in manufacturing or agriculture, maintenance, or technical sales; many are administrators or managers. Specialization in energy systems, applied mechanics, automotive design, manufacturing, materials, plant engineering and more enhances the student's employment prospects.
